Hotel History

It was the first hotel ever built in Sinai area by the Israeli during their occupation. The aim of building the hotel in this location was to enable the army officers to receive their families for visit in the site. After 1973 war, Egypt took back Sinai area and the Egyptian authority took over the hotel. However, after the liberation of the Sinai Peninsula in 1981, the hotel was operated by the Egyptians. Afterwards, when Peace negotiations started between Egypt & Israel, it took place at this hotel between the former Egyptian President & Israel Prime Minister. In 1991, Helnan Hotels Management took over the hotel management as the pioneer Company to invest in South Sinai area and especially Sharm El Sheikh. Ten years after the company invested millions of Dollars in the hotel to increase its' rooms capacity to 275 rooms with different hotel facilities, now Sharm El Sheikh city became one of the major touristic destinations in the world with more than 40 thousand rooms in several hotels. Balconies and safety boxes are available in superior rooms and suites only.
