Hotel History


Is directly situated on the Mediterranean sandy beach and the entrance of the Suez Canal, enjoying a unique view at the border line between Asia & Africa. The hotel was built in 1963-1965 during the Economic upswing period of that time due to the importance of Port Said city as a major destination for trading, business, and tourism. In 1975, after the Suez Canal was reopened, discussions and intentions were brought to repair the main building. It took a long time until the decision was taken to subvert the hotel and rebuilt it again to secure all safety aspects for the building. The hotel was reopened in September 1990, under the operation of Helnan Hotel Management Company in its new shape as a five stars hotel with two buildings. The main one consisting of 5 floors, plus the 2floors Garden building. In addition to a health club, 2 swimming pools, tennis & squash courts, night club, restaurants, bar and 4 different meeting rooms.

Location & Information
The hotel is located at a distance of 7 km from the city airport, 2 km from the train station and 3 km from the city main bus station, which is the easiest access from the city to outside.

The hotel features a total of 202 units. They are divided into 118 rooms, 12 suites, 2 Royal suites at the Main building and 54 rooms, 2 suites, 2 Royal suites at the Garden building and 12 sea suites.

"Marina Coffee Shop" offers International cuisine from the a la carte menu, plus snacks, sandwiches and delicious breakfast buffet. "Sohbagya Café" serves oriental food and beverages in a typical oriental atmosphere from decorations, music to staff appearance. "Italiano Restaurant" for dinner and lunch. "Danish Café" all day café serving hot drinks, juices and home made fresh pastries and cakes..
